He also founded and manages Fredonia’s “Magazine Exchange,” in which students, faculty, staff, and visitors are encouraged to share used periodicals, in an effort to provide free periodical literature and to encourage reading for pleasure.

He has over 30 years of experience in post-secondary education, having held teaching and administrative positions at Bryant & Stratton College, and later served as Associate Dean at Genesee Community College’s Lakeville Campus Center before joining the Fredonia professional staff in 2007.

Skowronski’s service to the university includes the Vice President’s/Provost’s Council, College Committee on Professional Evaluation, Graduate Council (ex officio), Micro-Credentials Subcommittee, Banner Users’ Group, Course Scheduling Taskforce, Online Education Taskforce (Co-chair), Summer Sessions Taskforce (Chair), Incubator Entrepreneurial Education Committee, Malcolm C. Reed Memorial Scholarship Committee (Chair), Middle States Working Group on Academic Programs, the committee to establish an English Language Immersion Academy on campus, Graduate Admissions Assistant Search Committee (Chair)  and the Management Faculty Search Committee.

His professional affiliations include membership in SUNY Association of Special Sessions, The North American Association of Summer Sessions and SUNY Continuing Education Collaborative.

In the local community, he served on the Chautauqua Leadership Network Board of Directors, served as Curriculum Committee Chair for the Chautauqua Leadership Network, and worked with the Chautauqua County Visitors’ Bureau on its branding initiative: “Chautauqua County – The World’s Learning Center.”

He has an M.B.A., with a concentration in Marketing, from the School of Management at Syracuse University, and a B.A. in Journalism, with a concentration in Advertising and Public Relations, from SUNY Buffalo State.
