Resident Assistant Advisory Board (RAAB)

What is RAAB?

The Resident Assistant Advisory Board will work to promote the unification of the Residence Life Staff and to assist in their needs and concerns. RAAB shall be a line of communication between the RAs and Residence Life Central Staff. RAAB will integrate important Residence Life-related issues into its meetings, making it detrimental to our cause if Resident Assistants do not participate and play an active role.

How to get involved:

The RAAB e-board meets weekly throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. Meetings are held at 4:15 p.m. on Sundays. During these meetings, the e-board plans general body meetings, events, and discusses points of interest or concern. Advisors are present at the e-board meetings.
The RAAB general body meetings are also held weekly throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. Meetings are held at 5:00 p.m. on Sundays. All RAs are considered a part of the RAAB general body, but not all RAs are required to attend every single meeting. Usually, RAs who are on weekend duty are responsible for attending that week’s meeting.

Election Process:

Elections usually occur sometime during the fall training. Interested RAs can self-nominate for positions they would like to run for. They are usually given a couple of days to informally campaign, and then they give a brief speech to all RAs. Voting is done online via google forms, and winners are usually announced at the end-of-training dinner.
