J-Term at SUNY Fredonia, which began this week, features 40 class sections, 11 online sections and seven study abroad opportunities, according to Lifelong Learning and Special Programs.

Students seeking to “plow ahead” with their educational goals were able to choose from among classes in the following disciplines: biology, business administration, communication, computer and information sciences, criminal justice, education, geosciences, international education, mathematical sciences, music, music business, music therapy, physical education, psychology, sociology, sport management and theatre arts.

International courses are taking place in Ghana, India, Spain, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Belize.

“The courses that see the strongest enrollment are the ones that best fulfill the students’ needs (for example, Gen Ed or major degree requirements),” said Eric Skowronski, director of Lifelong Learning and Special Programs.

“We continue to see growth in online courses,” Skowronski added, which allow students to spend more time at home over break with their families and friends and still move closer to achieving their academic goals. Campus-based courses also continue to record healthy enrollments.
