Students, faculty and staff are invited to roll up their sleeves for an American Red Cross blood drive at the Williams Center Multipurpose Room on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Volunteers will include the Fredonia State Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

The most common type of donation is whole blood, which us frequently given to trauma patients or people undergoing surgery. All blood types are accepted. A Power Red donation collects a concentrated dose of red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. Ideal blood types are O positive, O negative, A negative and B negative.

Prospective donors can participate in the blood drive at their convenience or can schedule an appointment online.
