SUNY Fredonia again ranked high in multiple national publications
The State University of New York at Fredonia continues to be considered a top choice among colleges and universities by several prestigious publications that rank institutions annually.

Fredonia has again been named one of the top public universities in the North in the 2023 edition of U.S. News & World Report's "Best Colleges."
In the category of "Top Public Universities in the North," Fredonia is ranked 17th. Fredonia has been ranked in the Top 20 in this category since 1989. The publication's "North" region includes nearly 200 four-year universities in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
In the larger category of both public and private institutions in the North, SUNY Fredonia is ranked 70th in the top tier of the "Best Regional Universities," which the magazine defines as those offering primarily bachelor's and master's degrees. The rankings compare bachelor's degree-granting institutions across the U.S. on 15 measures of academic quality.
Fredonia is also listed among the top regional universities in the North for Social Mobility by enrolling and graduating large proportions of disadvantaged students awarded Pell Grants.
The annual rankings represent a comprehensive look at how schools stack up based on a set of widely accepted indicators of excellence and aim to help students evaluate and compare data compiled by ranked colleges and universities.

The Princeton Review
The Princeton Review has also named Fredonia as one of the best four-year universities in the Northeast.
The Princeton Review rates colleges and universities annually across categories, including academics, student life, faculty engagement, and environmental awareness. "Our ranking lists, however, are not based on our opinions of the colleges," said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review. "They're entirely based on what the schools' students have told us about their experiences at them."
Fredonia was one of 224 universities named to the "Best Northeast" list among colleges in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maryland and Maine.
In addition to the "Best Regional College, Northeast" designation, Fredonia was once again listed as a top "Green College," a unique resource the education services company created in 2010 for students interested in attending colleges with a solid commitment to the environment and sustainability.
