A new solo guitar composition, “Just Because,” by SUNY Distinguished Professor James Piorkowski, has been published by Guitar Chamber Music Press, whose catalogue is dedicated to the guitar and guitar ensembles.

“Over the years, I have dedicated various compositions to my wife, sons, granddaughters and friends, and then realized that I did not yet write anything for my daughter-in-law,” Mr. Piorkowski said. “So, with that in mind, I began composing this piece for Nicole, hoping to capture at least a reflection of her through the music.

"And in the end, I composed it … just because.”

The video of Piorkowski performing the piece can be found at online
