IoT workshop completed by students

Several SUNY Fredonia students completed a recent IoT (Internet of Things) workshop organized by the Department of Computer and Information Sciences.
The workshop was conducted in the Houghton Hall robotics lab by Dr. Syed Misbahuddin, a faculty member from Seneca Polytechnic Toronto.
Dr. Misbahhuddin showed the students how to configure Rapsberry Pi as an IoT device and how to control its various ports by programming and remote management using smart phones. The controlled devices included servo motors and LEDs.
The students were fully engaged for several hours and created some fun projects using the accessories and equipment provided to them in the robotics lab. At the conclusion of the workshop, the students, including Alexander Scalcione, T'Kaia Parke, Kaylie Fox, Milan Pansuriya, Zahary Stofko, Timothy Doan and Aaron Burkett, received certificates from the department.
