International education benefits the topic of next Brown Bag talk

How students can benefit from an international educational experience will be the focus of the final Brown Bag lecture of the fall semester on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from noon to 1 p.m., in Williams Center Room S204.
A panel comprised of staff, faculty and students will explore the value of an international education in the context of “Negative and Positive Effects of Globalization,” the 2019-2020 Brown Bag Lecture series theme.
Panel members include Naomi Baldwin, director of the Office of International Education; Erin Willis, assistant director of Study Abroad and Student Exchange; and Iclal Vanwesenbeeck, faculty Study Abroad coordinator. Three Fredonia students – Maria Garcia, a Communication: Audio/Radio Production major who went to China in 2018-2019; Sophia Auteri, a Music Industry major who spent last summer in England; and Julia Holynski, a Theatre Arts and Communication: Video Production major who spent the Spring 2018 semester in England – and one international student currently enrolled at Fredonia – Jun Meng, a Chinese student enrolled in the TESOL program – will also be panelists.
A brief discussion will follow a 20-minute presentation. Food will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Department of Psychology faculty member and SUNY Distinguished Service Professor Jack Croxton will give opening remarks.
Brown Bag talks, presented by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, are held each month and are free and open to the public.
