Members of the student-run record label handled all aspects of the Dec. 8 fundraiser, from ticket sales to event set-up to entertainment, said Sophia Auteri, promotions project manager for HAIL! Fredonia Records. Raffle items included gift baskets generously donated by local businesses and clubs. An ugliest Christmas sweater contest was also staged.

Two alternative rock bands – superficial., from Fredonia, and The Burkharts, from Buffalo – played 45-minute sets.

The event attracted students, faculty and campus staff as well as community members.

Net proceeds of $559 will be allocated by HAIL! Fredonia Records to support future events, including its Lend a Paw for Autism, a large-scale dog walk around campus that benefits the Institute for Autism Research at Canisius College.
