“Iced Out Lake Chautauqua” is comprised of archival ink jet photographs on handmade milkweed and recycled fiber paper, pigment pulp, blowouts using Lake Chautauqua ice melt and recycled rope.

Frerichs’ artist book was invited for exhibition as he was one of the international jurors for the competition. His artist book creation was funded in part through a 2023 New York State Council on the Arts artist grant.

The work will be exhibited in multiple venues that include Reed Library in March 2025. Public artist talks and workshops will accompany the campus exhibition.

Additional exhibits that will feature his book include Gallery SG, Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Italy, from March 27 to April 13.
