David Duro, M.M. Trumpet Performance

David Duro has been an Adjunct Instructor of Trumpet at SUNY Fredonia since 2016, and also teaches at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, OH. He currently performs as an Associate Musician with the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, is a founding member of Burning River Brass and the BlueWater Chamber Orchestra in Cleveland, OH; and is a regular substitute with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus, OH. David is an active free-lance player in the Cleveland, OH area including shows and orchestral performances in Cleveland's Playhouse Square.

Previous teaching experiences include Memphis State University (University of Memphis); West Virginia University; the University of Tennessee at Martin; Rhodes College (Memphis, TN); The University of Akron; Hiram College; Mercyhurst College (Erie, PA); Muskingum University; and the Preparatory Division of the Cleveland Institute of Music for 14 years.

Orchestral positions have included the Memphis Symphony Orchestra; Canton Symphony; Wheeling Symphony; Youngstown Symphony; and Erie Philharmonic. As a substitute or extra player David has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony, and New Orleans Symphony among others.

Degrees are a Bachelor of Music Education in Trumpet from the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music (1976);
a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from Memphis State University (1978); and Professional Studies at the Cleveland Institute of Music (1989-91).
